Covid lockdown changes from 19th July



Boris Johnson has announced further easing of restrictions set to take place on July 19th. The final decision on this will be made on 12th July.


Here's some of the key things that were announced:


  • The dose interval for under 40s will be reduced from 12 weeks to 8, so that everyone over 18 should be double jabbed by mid-September

  • All legal limits on the numbers meeting indoors and outdoors will be removed

  • All businesses to re-open, including nightclubs

  • Limit lifted on named visitors to care homes

  • Limited lifted on numbers of people attending concerts, theatre, and sports events

  • 1 metre plus rule on social distancing will end

  • No legal obligation to wear a face covering

  • No longer necessary for government to instruct people to work from home

  • No Covid certificates required as a condition of entry to any venue or event
