Get ready for the rise in rates from April 2020

The National Minimum wage rates will again increase from 1st April 2020.

The National Living Wage, which is the statutory minimum for workers aged 25 and over, will increase by 6.2% to £8.72 per hour. National Minimum Wage rates for younger workers will also increase above inflation.

As the minimum wage increases more employers than ever will be directly affected, including some of those who currently pay above the minimum.

Here are the current and new rates:

Apprentices

Minimum wage is currently £3.90, which will be increasing to £4.15

Under 18

Minimum wage is currently £4.35, which will be increasing to £4.55

18-20

Minimum wage is currently £6.15, which will be increasing to £6.45

21-24

Minimum wage is currently £7.70, which will be increasing to £8.20

25 and over

Minimum wage is currently £8.21, which will be increasing to £8.72
